Flights
and Other Travel Information Flights There are many flights to Split leaving from regional airports around Britain and many of the low-cost airlines fly into Croatia. A great web site for finding the best ticket prices is www.skyscanner.net EasyJet fly direct to Split from Gatwick and Bristol, Croatia Airlines fly from Gatwick and Heathrow, Flybe from Birmingham and British Airways fly from a variety of airports. There are also charter flights during the summer on a Saturday, which can represent the best value if booked closer to departure; e.g. Thomas Cook and Sky Europe. More detailed information on air travel to Croatia is available from the Croatian Tourist Board. Travel from the Airport From the airport you can get a bus or taxi to the ferry port. The journey takes 30-40 minutes. The Ferry to Supetar takes about 45 minutes. It leaves from the last or second to last terminal on the Eastern side of the port (left as you look to the sea). Tickets can be bought at the large Jadrolinia ticket office within the ferry port building towards the eastern end of the harbour. For timetable see links page. Drinks and snacks can be bought on the ferry. There are several mainstream car hire companies at the airport and in Split. We have found www.economycarrentals.com to be very reasonable - prebook in the season. They have a small office immediately outside the airport terminal and no queues in our experience. You can also hire a limited selction of cars in Supetar. On Arrival On arrival in Supetar you can get a taxi or bus to the apartment or drive yourselves. The drive will take about 10 minutes. We can give you directions and you will be met by Mila who can show you around and answer any queries you might have. She speaks good English and lives close by should you have any worries. |
